Rp staff

From ThresholdRPG Wiki

RP Staff are special "characters" that are run by experienced roleplayers who have applied for and been entrusted with this responsibility. RP Staff characters have a variety of tools and commands that are used to promote and facilitate roleplay. Among other things, they can take control of npcs to interact with players, broadcast messages, and teleport around the world. Their primary responsibility is to respond to and create roleplay opportunities for other players. Nearly all of their activities are logged and there is additional oversight to make sure RP Staff are using their tools appropriately.

RP Staff Identifiers

A player operating an RP Staff character can be identified by a few means. First, their race is umbral. Second, they typically have a pretitle "RP Staff." The vast majority of the time, RP Staff will be invisible as they are only hanging around to control NPCs or broadcast messages related to roleplay going on.

If you happen to see one of these RP Staff characters, most likely it means their invisibility was accidentally turned off. Please do not engage them directly. Do not acknowledge them by emote, or say, and if possible, do not look at them. You could mention to them on the citizen channel that they are visible and they will appreciate you pointing that out so they can fix it.

There may be unique RP situations where they will visibly interact with players as their "umbral" being. In this case, it is obviously intentional and roleplay accordingly.

DO NOT ATTACK AN RP STAFF CHARACTER

Interested?

If you are interested in becoming a member of the RP Staff team, please send an email to threshold@frogdice.com with a detailed proposal of what you would like to do as an RP Staffer.

Alternatives

While we entertain all requests to become a member of the RP Staff, we cannot accept all such requests. However, there exists the ability to play an NPC in the game. Some NPCs already exist, or, you could develop your own NPC to hang out in Sable city or Thrace city. You are welcome to email threshold@frogdice.com with any such proposal and if accepted, we will work with you to develop and create this character.
