Along with all the different deities, Threshold RPG also has three different alignments for characters to choose from. The Ethos command will display your character's moral and ethical outlook and his or her general stance on the Final Battle. Ethos can change over time, and as a result you are allowed to change your ethos once every 30 RL days. You can only move one step (good/evil to neutral, or neutral to good/evil) each time; it would take 60 days to move from good to evil or vice versa.

Usage

ethos - Check your ethos

ethos <good/neutral/evil> - Change your ethos

Special Note

Changing your character's ethos is not without cost. Changing your ethos has a cost of either 20 ThreshCredits or 75 orb. You can choose at the time you make the change. The first time you set your ethos has no cost or penalty.

Ethos changing should always be something that happens through roleplay. This is a significant part of the overall story line of Threshold, and it should be taken seriously. Changing ethos simply for a game mechanic benefit is totally inappropriate and should not happen. We have given players the ability to change ethos on their own as a role play device. It should be used in that manner.
