Describe is an in depth way to display your character to the realm of Threshold. Using the multiple describe arguments, you can present how you wish your character to be seen by anyone who looks at you by using the long describe, and let people use their senses on you: smell, sound, taste and touch. There are also a number of OOC descriptions that can be written using this command, as well as additions such as a signature automatically added to all letters and board posts, how to pronounce your name,
Usage
Physical Description
- describe
- Use the editor to write your long description.
- describe clear
- Completely remove your current description
- describe 1
- Switch to your primary long description
- describe 2
- Switch to your secondary long description
- describe check
- Shows you your currently equipped description as well as all of your sensory descriptions.
Sensory Descriptions
- describe smell
- Describe how your character smells.
- describe sound
- Describe how your character sounds.
- describe taste
- Describe how your character tastes.
- describe touch
- Describe what your character feels like.
- describe <sense> check
- Displays the current description for specific sense
- Example

- Completely erase a sense's description

Character Name Pronunciation
You can also describe how your character's name is pronounced. This information will appear when someone uses the ooc command.
- describe name <info>
- Add the pronunciation of your character's name to your OOC screen.

- describe name clear
- Clear your character's name pronunciation from your OOC screen.
Signatures
The describe command is also how you set your mail and bulletin board signatures. Issuing these arguments will put you into an editor to make these changes.
- describe ooc
- Add a signature to your OOC screen.
- describe ooc clear
- Remove your OOC screen signature
- describe boardsig
- Add a signature to all of your bulletin board posts.
- describe boardsig clear
- Erase your bulletin board signature.
- describe mailsig
- Add a signature to all of your mudmail, including replies and forwards.
- describe mailsig clear
- Erase your mudmail signature.
Other uses
- describe genderbending
- Use this to add a flag to your OOC screen that alerts other players to the fact that you and your character are not the same gender. (See: genderbending)
