Pokka are a flightless, wingless creature that roam the realm of Threshold. They are vicious creatures which, left unmolested, are also incredibly fertile. Societies throughout history have tended to keep their population under control with varied levels of success. Two of the most popular such events are Pokka Gobblin' Time and the Pokka Egg Hunt. Recently, a larger variety of pokka have been spotted in different climes. This forking of the species could be a result of some form of evolution whereby the creatures eke out a more survivable existence or it could be the interference of some magic, it is too soon to tell.
