King's Brief for the Prosecution of Vermillion for the Extortion of Lexandrious

Lexandrious, the mage, contacted the Justicars with a complaint that Vermillion, the thief, was attempting to extort 12 orbs from him. The initial extortion amount was 10 orbs, or Lexandrious had a choice to die. Lexandrious had no possible way to pay the amount, so he gave himself up to death. He approched Vermillion with no armor and no arms and offered Vermillion his life. Vermillion refused the offer and said that he now wanted 12 orbs from Lexandrious and that 'there were things worse than death.'

Vermillion later admitted to all of Threshold that he was indeed attempting extortion:

Vermillion [threshold] I confess to the crime of extortion.
Vermillion [threshold] I confess to the crime of extortion of
                        Lexandrius.

Vermillion is guilty of extortion upon his own confession. The prosecution recommends that Vermillion be fined, keeping in mind the severity of his threats and the fear and despair that the mage, Lexandrious, experienced during the time in which Vermillion was attempting extortion.
