Description

   This carved idol is of open-work formed primarily of shining black
obsidian. A majestic giant cobra with glittering, faceted emerald eyes is
depicted spreading its hood in a threatening display. Strangle vines weave
over and around the snake making this piece an 18-inch long lattice of
obsidian decorated with gold and silver inlay for detail. The bas relief
has several hooks on the back making it suitable for hanging. Each of the
deep cuts in the engraving are filled with gold and silver to catch the
light beautifully.
