King's Brief for the Prosecution of Syl for Murder of Summener Submitted by Skeeve
In Twilight, 208, a fighter named Syl, was adventuring near Maelstroms Castle when a Mage named Summener chanced upon them and tried to befriend them.
While Summener was trying to get to know Syl and his companion, Syl was admiring the equipment Summener was carrying and noticed that Summener was severely wounded from a previous encounter.
Syl says, "'he started to get friendly with us, when I noticed he was bleeding all over the floor" Syl says, "I mean this guy was loaded up like a pack mule" Syl says, "coinpurse jingling like a sleigh bell" Syl says, "and bleeding like a stuck pig to boot"
At this point, Syl and his companion decided that Summener was an easy target and slew him for his possessions and coin.
Syl says, "so a couple of whispers and gestures later, I get up to block the door" Syl says, "now since we are a great team, Arbs(Arbhogast) knew this as the signal" Syl says, "and attacked" Syl says, "Summener dropped in two seconds"
Syl and his companion gathered up the equipment and fled the scene.
They later returned to an area near the first slaying and again encountered Summener in the midst of battle. When Syl saw Summener he fled, fearing his life. When Summener followed Syl, Syl attacked and killed Summener again.
In neither situation did Summener provoke an attack upon either of the two fighters. Summener was trying to be gain new friends and was slain for his equipment.
Recommendations: The Prosecution believes that this was premeditated and recommends that Syl be punished to the full extent of the law for the Murder of Summener.

________________________ ) Rex, ) ) ) v. ) Crim209-1 ) ) Syl, Arbhogast ) DECIDED: Twilight 22, 204 Joint Defendants ) ) ________________________)
Charge:
Syl and Arbhogast stand accused of the murder of Summener.
Findings of Fact:
Syl and Arbhogast have both admitted to murdering Summener multiple times in order to obtain his possessions and money.
Discussion:
No discussion is necessary. These two foul miscreants freely admit to attacking someone who was making a gesture of friendship for the simple goal of taking what few possessions he carried at the time. This insults the sensibilities of any civilized being, and the callousness with which they recount their tale further angers and enrages this deliverer of Bilanx's justice.
Exacerbating factors:
1) Summener was murdered while offering gestures of friendship. 2) He was slain multiple times for nothing more than a few trinkets. 3) Neither Syl nor Arbhogast are citizens, and therefore even less deserving of any shred of mercy.
Holding:
Syl: [Murder] - Guilty
Arbhogast: [Murder] - Guilty
Sentence:
Public humiliation and then absolute, irrevocable destruction.
