The Trial Arcanus is a challenging game of strategy, skill, luck, planning, treachery, and all the other things that are included when a mortal hunts another mortal. In this game, you have a badge and wand that identify you as a player and serve as your weapon in this game. Depending on which version you are playing, one to three hits is all it takes to knock someone out.
How to play
- You get your Arcanus Badge and Wand from the trial room in Sable Arena.
- You type: arcanus, to see who is playing.
- You select any or all of them as potential targets. Note that ANYONE possessing a badge and wand can be selected as a target by anyone else. It doesn't matter if they are on your list, you might still be on theirs.
- You hunt down your prey, and zap them with your wand.
Rules
There are a few standard "accepted" rules of behavior one is expected to follow, in order for it to be a good game.
- You do not "retire" just before someone is about to zap you.
- You do not use real physical force in order to defeat them in the Trial Arcanus (spells and powers that affect you are fine. But the casting of spells or use of powers UPON another player is highly frowned upon).
- NO INVISIBILITY OF ANY KIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- If you are playing Team Trial Arcanus, you cannot have your entire team sit in a room and just wait for some poor sap to walk in (particularly if you are also blocking). That is just boring as all hell, and makes the game just a competition of who can sit afk and clean their nails longest.
