With this command you attempt to dig in the earth or in something else "diggable" in hopes of either finding something buried there, churning the earth, or whatever other purpose you might have for digging in the ground or other soil. Generally, you will only be able to dig outdoors, and you will almost always find it helpful to have some kind of digging implement to assist you in this very tiring endeavor. See also Bury command.
