In an effort to remedy the potentially unbalancing effect that excessive healing can have, every character has a limit to the maximum amount of healing from spells or magic items they can receive during a given span of time. This bank regenerates steadily over time. Healing from food or potions does not affect this bank.
Guidelines
The following govern how heal banks work in Threshold.
- When someone or something heals you, only the amount you are actually healed gets charged against your heal bank. If you are 20 points away from your max health and some cleric heals you for 400, only 20 points are deducted from your heal bank. If you are fully healed and a cleric heals you for 500 points, nothing is charged against your heal bank.
- The rate that your heal bank regenerates increases with your level. Thus, unlike other vital statistics (hp, sp, ep) it does not take longer to fully regenerate your heal bank as you go up in level. In fact, the amount of time it takes to regenerate your entire heal bank stays almost exactly the same no matter what level you are.
- Your heal bank regenerates even when you are in combat.
- It is relatively difficult to use up your entire heal bank if only one person is healing you- unless you are fighting something so far above you in power that you that you never should have even tried it.
- Clerics have a slightly larger heal bank than other guilds. Since clerics rely upon the heal spell more than anyone else, they were given a slightly larger heal bank.
