King's Brief: Crim198-3p

===========================================
 Docket Number: Crim198-3 - Rex v. Jaddath
===========================================
 Brief for the King, submitted by Dynauld
===========================================

It grieves me to bring another hardened soul before your bench, asking for the Judgement of Bilanx and recompense for the city of Sable. Jaddath, a relatively recent addition to our community, has become a public nuisance in all senses of the word by assaulting and murdering those citizens least likely to be able to defend themselves: new immigrants to our fair Town. Jaddath was repeatedly caught in the act of assaulting and robbing the young by other citizens, and by the King's Justicars themselves as the fining records will clearly show. His disrepect and flagrant sneering at the Law lead him to steal in front of even myself, and to continue his rampage regardless of all warnings. Realizing that the fines of the King were not swaying this young fool, the Brute Squad was directed to bring him to an agreement by which to re-enter society as a productive member. The agreement, reached in public in the Green Griffon between Jaddath and Brute Squad Ogre Alexander, a member of the King's Council, entailed that he must provide any and all services upon the request of any recent arrival to Sable. Jaddath was given an opportunity to perform this agreement by bringing a sirloin to a young Fighter named Latoris. Jaddath violated the agreement by attempting to murder Latoris, who was only rescued by the timely aid of Alexander himself.

Jaddath then fled to his Guild and cowered, refusing to answer the charges when asked repeatedly to do so, and finally only coerced out along with 5 of his brethren upon the final pronouncement of free reign upon his person by the Sablean Brute Squad. Jaddath intially confessed to ALL charges, then backpedaled rapidly and charged Alexander with trying to murder him with Latoris, although he continued to admit to the charges of assault and robbery of the young of Sable, and continued in his disrespect for the Laws of Sable. When offered the opportunity to pay his debt to society, and compensate the Crown for violating his earlier agreement with the Brute Squad and for his assault upon Latoris by paying the sum of 10 orb directly to the King, with another 10 orb to Latoris, in addition to the public apology and admission of all crimes, he chose instead to further insult the King's Councilman Alexander and try to deny his crimes after his public apology, witnessed by myself, Alexander, his Guild mates, Sajek, Meara, Vivaldi, Latoris, Nikki, and so many more members of the community that I lost count.

Given his public admission of guilt, his lack of respect for the Law and due process, and his violation of his previous agreement, I ask the Court to lean heavily upon Jaddath, in order for him to eventually repay his debt to the Town. If I may be so bold, I would ask that he be charged with making restitution to the Crown, to Latoris, and to Alexander [for the insults], and that the public apology originally mandated again be served. Given his earlier disdain for the amounts set, I would of course request the amounts be increased substantially.

Also, I ask for a censuring of his Guild for harboring an _admitted_ fugitive from the Law, when his presence was repeatedly requested by the King's Justicars to answer Alexander's charges.
