This command allows you to invoke an item, generally magical, in an attempt to utilize its core functionality. There are a variety of ways you can try to invoke an item and the method depends on the capabilities of the item as well as what sorts of additional information is needed (does it need a target? are additional arguments needed? etc.).

Usage

invoke <object>

invoke <object> at <target>

invoke <object>: <args>

Special Note

Sometimes the result of invoking an item will be the revelation of command words for operating the item.

It is also possible to invoke "room items" with this command. Room items are things that are either located in or described as part of the room but are not actual objects that you pick up and hold in your inventory.
