Because of the attack and subsequently being made repentant in the church of Vishnu, Xaxer left for many years to wander the wilderness in 383.  He returned in 409, still in repentant status and unsure of the church's new emphasis on spiritual enlightenment and divine truth. Xaxer prayed to be released from service to Vishnu as paladin.
