If you possess Karma, you can see your current Karma by typing [[XP_command|XP]].&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
While your character has Karma, you will continue to gain XP and can even level up. Your earned XP will be split 50/50 between repaying Karma and gaining XP toward advancement.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
* ''All bonuses to XP gain, such as from buffs, will be applied first, before the experience is split between Karma and XP.''&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
* ''XP Split, however, is applied after Karma has been deducted, on the remaining regular XP.''&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Karma is accrued at a rate of 50% of your next player level cost each time you die to a cap of 200%. Assuming you have made no XP gains, your Karma accrual would look like this after 5 deaths:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
    Example:&lt;br /&gt;
    &amp;amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;
    XP Required to level: 10,000&lt;br /&gt;
    &amp;amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;
    Death 1 - Karma = 5,000&lt;br /&gt;
    Death 2 - Karma = 10,000&lt;br /&gt;
    Death 3 - Karma = 15,000&lt;br /&gt;
    Death 4 - Karma = 20,000&lt;br /&gt;
    Death 5 - Karma = 20,000&lt;br /&gt;

The following situations will not accrue Karma:&lt;br /&gt;
    * Being lower than guild level 5&lt;br /&gt;
    * Forgiveness (help forgiveness)&lt;br /&gt;
    * Death, Where is thy Sting? toggle (help toggles)&lt;br /&gt;
    * Dying to an invader&lt;br /&gt;
    * Possessing a boon (help boons)&lt;br /&gt;
    * Possessing a Cycle of Life (help death consequences)&lt;br /&gt;
    * Experiencing Vengeance (help death consequences)&lt;br /&gt;
    * Experiencing Kismet (help death consequences)&lt;br /&gt;
    * Being slain by another adventurer&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
