Anthson: /* Ethos */

Jonath Umbra, born Jonath of Patmos in the year 452, is a mid-ranking member of the Thieves guild of Sable, follower of Silvanus, and husband to Omisha Umbra.

Known by the smallfolk as "The Femme Boy Fatale," Jonath is best known for his feminine clothing and mannerisms, along with his jovial and friendly nature.

Appearance and character
At five feet and nine inches, Jonath is a human of lithe and nimble stature. His deep-black hair flows down to a few inches above his shoulders, and at least three women are known to have fallen in love with his sapphire blue eyes. Jonath is known for incorporating women's clothing heavily into his look, and can often be seen sporting stockings or a miniskirt alongside a pair of legs shaved smooth. Like most ebons, Jonath prefers wielding two bladed weapons in combat. His affinity for purples and blacks extends from his clothing to his weapons and armor.

Known for being overtly friendly — if a bit much at times — Jonath has earned a reputation for his soft-spoken kindness, generosity, and passionate need to see the good in everyone.

Ethos
Jonath follows the chaos harmonic primarily, and considers himself to be a good person. He has a deep distrust of institutions of order, which he freely professes are almost always harmful systems of control. He values his freedom more than his own life.

Not one to quibble over matters of morality, Jonath is known for fraternizing with members of churches that many Silvanites traditionally avoid. He calls the Bastite and Psion guild member Draephor his best friend. And his wife Omisha worships Gethsemane while aligning evil, though both find harmony in their passion for chaos.

History
Early life
Born to Geyne and Kaitlan in the rural farm workers community known by locals as Patmos, Jonath spent his early years working the fields as children of farm workers do. In the year 469, his local lord called the banners and sent all healthy young men off to war in a regional dispute. Jonath served six months as an infantry spearman, marching and fighting in his lord's army equipped with not much more than a long sharpened stick.

Jonath returned to farming life in the year 470. In Patmos, he remained the only young man from his generation to have never taken a wife nor fathered children. Jonath would not leave farming life until an as-of-yet unknown occurrence pushed him to adventuring and the town of Sable in the year 510.

Adventurer
Jonath earned his membership to the Sablean chapter of the Adventurers Guild, followed by full membership to the Thieves guild, in the year 510. He was personally admitted to the guild by Rilthyn De'Tast, Prince of Bastards, and soon after mentored by Ajin Atura, the Shadow Dancer.

Initially an apostate, Jonath was briefly accused of heresy and atheism by adventurers Eidenhoek and Praem. This further soured his opinion of religion until Draephor introduced Jonath to Omisha. After sharing her faith with Jonath, his view of the aether underwent a change that eventually led him to supplicate to Silvanus shortly after the Divine Audience of 513.

Omisha and Jonath went on to fall in love, and were engaged to be married the same year. They were joined together Tempest 22 of the year 514 in a ceremony officiated by Deokoria Ventris, Matriarch of Gethsemane. Jonath's supplication to Silvanus concluded with a ceremony welcoming him as a full member of the faith Serenus 5, 514.

Power and influence
Jonath is currently armory officer for his guild. He is of the lowest rank in the Silvanite faith.

He is known to have earned a Hegemon's Belt at least, and favors exotic and rare blades in his sword hand — practically refusing to be seen wielding anything less, and every one razor sharpened by an extremely adept metalsmith. During the Kleiburn auction of the year 516, Jonath purchased the artifact of legend known as Dragonfang.

His wealth is vast enough to afford him the opportunity to own prime residential property inside Thrace's walls, though he owes fealty to the Kingdom of Sable.
Tears of Adonai
While adventuring abroad in the year 529, Jonath rediscovered the lost triad of gemstones known as the Tears of Adonai. Said to have been crafted long ago by a powerful wizard, the gemstones now adorn a master-forged damascan steel langmesser Jonath wields in battle. The stones possess unknown magical properties, and have been observed changing color at Jonath's command.

History
Early life
Born to Geyne and Kaitlan in the rural farm workers community known by locals as Patmos, Jonath spent his early years working the fields as children of farm workers do.

This further soured his opinion of religion until Draephor introduced Jonath to Omisha Umbra, the Macabre Bard.

Anthson: objectivity edit

Formed in the year 534, the Band of Pokkinators is a chaos-focused clan recognized in the eyes of Vindicator despite their flippant, nonchalant approach to glory. Caring too much is anathema among their ranks, and every Pokkinator is born from a desire to screw off and embrace laziness. They mock tradition, laugh in the face of honor, and scoff at the idea of taking themselves seriously. To every Pokkinator, tradition is a joke and the world is but a chaotic stage for comedy.
Charter
But for Vindicator's requirement that each clan have a charter, the Pokkinators would have none.

What is written on record speaks of a band of wild actors, with unpredictability and creativity as their core foundations. Pokkinators celebrate randomness and wild fancy. Though founded as a clan dedicated to hunting seasonal Pokka, that foundational premise was crafted to be as silly and unimportant as possible. Clan founder Jonath has been quoted as describing the Pokkinators as a "clan about nothing."

The clan's chief founder, Omisha, has described the clan as an opportunity to "take the piss out of" the concept of clanhood. Many who would laughingly mock the traditions of ranking, honor, strength, and purpose have flocked to her comedic cause.
Card battles
Pokkinator Deckmaster Jonath has focused on trashing every other clan's deck since the clan's formation.

"The Pokkideck," as he has so named it, remains a feared and fierce challenger in the eyes of Vindicator. Though Jonath's embrace of chaos put the Pokkinators at the bottom of the card battle rankings each season since their inception, his uncurtailed experimentation has elevated the Pokkideck to the top of rankings as of the year 542.

Few clans are able to test the might of the Pokkideck and come away victorious.
Membership
The Band of Pokkinators never recruit, though their roster always remains open to newcomers. Anyone who would prove themselves unworthy of proving themselves stands a chance at gaining membership. Provided, of course, that they're lazy enough. Those that have risen to this challenge include the following:
Jonath follows the chaos harmonic primarily, and considers himself to be a good person. He has a deep distrust of institutions of order, which he freely professes are almost always harmful systems of control. He values his freedom more than his own life.
Early life
Born to Geyne and Kaitlan in the rural farm workers community known by locals as Patmos, Jonath spent his early years working the fields as children of farm workers do.

This further soured his opinion of religion until Draephor introduced Jonath to Omisha Umbra, the Macabre Bard.

In contrast with his physical, political, and religious prowess, Frobozz is of humble and modest size standing at 5 feet 7 inches while weighing around 150 pounds. His deep sapphire blue eyes complement a short head of brown hair, while his light and tanned skin gives off a healthy glow.

Frobozz is known for adorning himself in powerful plate armor, choosing the whites and golds of his god Vishnu along with Vivorian blues to honor his reverence for the goddess of life and healing.

Despite his fierce opposition to all evil — or perhaps because of it — Frobozz is not widely known for his kindness. He has earned a reputation for being a stoic sentinel of justice who, at a moment's notice, is capable of becoming a terrifying arbiter of righteous retribution.
Ethos
As the patriarch of Vishnu, Frobozz holds to the tenents of good and order, though he focuses primarily on morality and has been known to show little care for the struggle between chaos and order.

Frobozz's morality was forged in the time of the Aether before harmonic considerations were upon the gods' minds, and as such he carries a moral philosophy that leans on black-and-white divisions rather than areas of gray. Though many other mortals have forgotten, Frobozz remembers the time when most gods sided with either light or darkness — and those choices of the past still influence how he sees churches and church members today.
Avatar of Justice
Frobozz departed the realm on a pilgrimage during the late months of the year 519, declaring the state of justice in the realm to be unsatisfactory and stepping aside as Grand Inquisitor. After his departure, the Temple of Bilanx began to fluctuate in and out of existence, with some mortals able to travel all the way through the halls of the old temple.

Frobozz reappeared midway through the year 520, claiming to have found a piece of the essence of the dead god Bilanx. He now appears to have ascended to the status of Avatar. While it is not clear what an avatar is, his title is that of Avatar of Justice. He wears a modified Bilanxian symbol, wields a new shortsword, and his return to Sable coincided with the formal reappearance of the temple of Bilanx.

Dragonfang is an ancient artifact of legend; one of several such powerful and unique weapons. It is a dagger crafted from flawless, dark blue steel and enchanted with powerful lightning magic. The blade's last known owner is Jonath Umbra.

History
Many adventurers throughout the weapon's history have come to possess Dragonfang. As with all ancient artifacts of legend, no one has been able to claim permanent ownership of the dagger. Some theorize the ancient artifacts have minds of their own.

In Rex vs. Talithia, Dragonfang was used to convict the latter of the murders of adventurers Salrim and Ruthra. Court documents stated Dragonfang to be a "unique, mystical artifact ... so spectacular that oftentimes their wielder is known more by their possession of the artifact than their own deeds."

History
Early life
Born to Geyne and Kaitlan in the rural farm workers community known by locals as Patmos, Jonath spent his early years working the fields as children of farm workers do.

This further soured his opinion of religion until Draephor introduced Jonath to Omisha Umbra, the Macabre Bard.

He is known to have earned a Champion's Belt at least, and favors exotic and rare blades in his sword hand — practically refusing to be seen wielding anything less, and every one razor sharpened by an extremely adept metalsmith. During the Kleiburn auction of the year 516, Jonath purchased the artifact of legend known as Dragonfang.

His wealth is vast enough to afford him the opportunity to own prime residential property inside Thrace's walls, though he owes fealty to the Kingdom of Sable.

Jonath Umbra, born Jonath of Patmos in the year 452, is a low-ranking member of the Thieves guild of Sable, follower of Silvanus, and husband to Omisha Umbra.

Known mockingly by the smallfolk as "The Femme Boy Fatale," Jonath is best known for his feminine clothing and mannerisms, along with his jovial and friendly nature.

Appearance and character
Standing almost six feet tall, Jonath is a human of lithe and nimble stature.

History
Early life
Born to Geyne and Kaitlan in the rural farm workers community known by locals as Patmos, Jonath spent his early years working the fields as children of farm workers do.

This further soured his opinion of religion until Draephor introduced Jonath to Omisha Umbra, the Macabre Bard.

Jonath is of low stature among adventurers and within his guild. He is of the lowest rank in the Silvanite faith.

He is known to have earned a Traveler's Belt at least, and favors exotic and rare blades in his sword hand — practically refusing to be seen wielding anything less, and every one razor sharpened by an extremely adept metalsmith.

His wealth is vast enough to afford him the opportunity to own prime residential property inside Thrace's walls, though he owes fealty to the Kingdom of Sable.

Anthson: /* Cards */

Battle cards are tradeable/collectible items found throughout the game, most commonly through the world drop system. They can also be purchased from card shops. Each battle card has different battle card stats depending on its rarity and level.

Rarity
There are four known rarities which are reflected in the color of the card.

Rarity
Color
Common
White
Uncommon
style="color: green;" |Green
Rare
style="color: yellow;" |Yellow
Elite
style="color: aqua;" |Bold Cyan

Cards
The cards themselves have two or three principal elements to them. The face, the back, and the glyphs. The face you can see when you simply type look <card>. The back can be viewed by typing look back on <card>.

|| Uncrowned face
|| Uncrowned back
|| Crowned front
|| Crowned back
|| Crowned glyphs

Leveling
Any time you win a battle at a battle brazier, you and your team will gain XP derived from the highest level opponent on the opposing team. Solo, it is just you against another player, but a team may consist of 2-4 players each. Additionally, a card can be "fed" to another card by being melded at an Engraved Silver Sorberus located in the card shops. There is a slight bonus to feeding cards of the same deck and the higher the level and rarity.

All cards start out at level 1 and progress to level 11. This is represented at the top right on the card by a +XX for every level above level 1 the card has achieved. Once a card has been crowned (see below) it is considered to have no level.

XP
XP is referred to in character as food. The amount of food needed to level a card is strictly dependent upon its level. The formula is simply level * 15.
+ Food required to level cards
Level !! +level !! Food Required
2    || +1     || 15
3    || +2     || 30
4    || +3     || 45
5    || +4     || 60
6    || +5     || 75
7    || +6     || 90
8    || +7     || 105
9    || +8     || 120
10   || +9     || 135
11   || +10    || 150

Melding
When melding a card via an Engraved Silver Sorberus certain bonuses apply depending on various qualities of the cards being used as food. The final amount of food value of the melded card will be a sum of the below.
* Level of fodder card * 3 + random(1 - level of fodder card)
* 2 * rarity level (common: 0, uncommon: 1, rare: 2, elite: 3)
* Same series as card being improved: +2

Crowning
Once a card has achieved +10 levels, it can be crowned. A crowned card has much higher stats and is now eligible to be inscribed with glyphs. Common cards cannot be crowned. Crowned cards do not gain XP and cannot be further leveled. A card can be crowned for 5 orb at an Engraved Silver Sorberus.

Series
There are presently two known series, the Bestiary Series and Critter Series.
Holiday Decks
* The Haunted Series was created during the 2017 Homestead celebration with limited cards and for a limited duration.
* The Founders Series was created during the summer of 2018 with limited cards and for a limited duration.

Stats
Battle cards have stats, much like players, and are used during a duel to enhance its abilities or even, in the case of health, measure its life. The following is a chart of the various stats on battle cards and what they represent.

+Battle card stats
Stat !! Description
Health || An amount measuring the life of the card.
Armor      || Mitigates incoming damage
Attack power || All damage is derived from this stat
Infliction || Chance to land a negative effect (debuff, status)
Resistance || Chance to resist a negative effect (debuff, status)
Critical chance || Chance to land a critical attack
Critical power || Critical damage is derived from this stat
Quickness || Determines place in attack order each round.

Resistance
When a card attempts a debuff or status attack, it must succeed its infliction stat against the resistance of the target card. If there are multiple targets, then each target gets an opportunity to resist the debuff/status.

Quickness
The attack order is only calculated once at the beginning of a round. Effects to a card's quickness will only be taken into account at the beginning of the following round. Cards with the same quickness value (including buffs and debuffs) at the beginning of a round are randomized to determine their order.

Jonath Umbra, born Jonath of Patmos in the year 452, is a low-ranking member of the Thieves guild of Sable, supplicant to Silvanus, and husband to Omisha Umbra.

History
Early life
Born to Geyne and Kaitlan in the rural farm workers community known by locals as Patmos, Jonath spent his early years working the fields as children of farm workers do.

This further soured his opinion of religion until Draephor introduced Jonath to Omisha Umbra, the Macabre Bard.

Power and influence
Jonath is of low stature among adventurers and within his guild. He is still conducting his supplication to Silvanus, and thus not a fully-fledged member of the religion.

After sharing her faith with Jonath, his view of the aether underwent a change that eventually led him to supplicate to Silvanus shortly after the Divine Audience of 513.

Omisha and Jonath went on to fall in love, and were engaged to be married the same year. They are set to be joined together Cuspis 17 of the year 514 in a ceremony officiated by Deokoria Ventris, Matriarch of Gethsemane.

Power and influence
Jonath is of low stature among adventurers and within his guild. He is still conducting his supplication to Silvanus, and thus not a fully-fledged member of the religion.
